Christopher Bonn has won the 2011-2012 World Series of Poker Circuit Harrah’s Philadelphia from a 321-player field over three days to lift the trophy, and collect the $109,760 first place prize, WSOPC gold ring, and a seat to the National Championship. Bonn defeated Ken Silverstein heads-up.

John Nelson exited in 11th in the last day’s action at the $1,600 Main Event and then Rex Clinckscales in 10th to get the official nine men final table underway. After shoving on an Ad-Js-4s flop only to be called by Ken Silverstein with pocket aces, aggressive player Tuan Phan (10s-5s) then lost ground. Phan was left licking his wounds, while the 3d followed by an Ac on the river made Silverstein quad aces to boost him into an encouraging position.

Subsequently, after Georgia Robinson’s Ah-Kh shove was called by Pete Kaemmerlen (Q-10), with a Q hitting on the flop to dispatch Robinson in 10th for $10,130; Robinson officially became the final table’s first casualty. Soon after, into the Qd-10d of Christopher Bonn, Tuan Phan pushed his Ac-7c. Bonn flopped a flush on a Ad-7d-2d board to eliminate Phan in 8th for $12,695.

Before being sent to the rail himself in 6th ($20,845) by Christopher Bonn, Eugene Fouksman took care of Mike Linster in 7th ($16,146). Bonn then went on to eliminate the remaining players at the table. With pocket eights to Bonn’s Ah-4h, these included John Mitchell in 5th ($27,332)) holding A-10 to Bonn’s A-J and Cory Mascagni in 4th ($36,407).

Christopher Bonn took his lead into heads-up play against Ken Silverstein after Pete Kaemmerlen hit the rail in 3rd ($49,288) and before long the defining hand was played with Silverstein’s A-9 racing against Bonn’s K-9. Christopher Bonn was crowned the 2012 WSOPC Harrah’s Philadelphia Champion, while the K-10-2-2-3 board sealed Silverstein’s fate that collected $67,863 for his runner-up finish.

The final table payouts were Christopher Bonn – $109,760; Ken Silverstein – $67,863; Pete Kaemmerlen – $49,288; Cory Mascagni – $36,407; John Mitchell – $27,332; Eugene Fouksman – $20,845; Mike Linster – $16,146; Tuan Phan – $12,695; Georgia Robinson – $10,130.

U.S. billionaire Sheldon Adelson’s Macau casino operator is launching a $4.4-billion complex that is its latest bet on continued strong growth in the world’s biggest gambling market. It is a long-delayed fourth resort. Later Wednesday, Sands China Ltd. was set to open the doors to the Sands Cotai Central with a high-wire tightrope performance and the unveiling of a 2,500 kilogram (5,500 pound) bronze and gold “God of Fortune” statue. The global financial crisis and worker shortages delayed the project’s completion for several years. He plans to spend $35 billion (22 billion pounds) on a mini-Las Vegas strip in Spain.

With the first phase featuring 340 gaming tables and 40 VIP rooms for high-rollers, the resort will open in stages. This year, another 200 tables will be added later. The only place in China where casino gambling is legal, it is the 35th casino to open in Macau. After rocketing 42 percent last year to $33.5 billion, more than five times the amount earned by casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, Macau’s gambling revenues rose 27 percent in the first three months of 2012.

The Sands Cotai Central was 10 years in the making and was dogged by regulatory and financial obstacles including the 2008 global liquidity crisis, located in the middle of the former Portuguese colony’s casino strip. Three years ago, the US gaming company was reportedly close to bankruptcy as tumbling revenues in Las Vegas, combined with increasing debts associated with its Asian projects, played mayhem with its balance sheet. However, since the end of 2009, the explosive growth of revenues from its Macau operations have helped the company turn the corner and Adelson predicted its share price would soon surpass its 2007 peak. Sands already run the Plaza Macau Four Seasons, the Sands Macau and Venetian Macau.

In terms of gaming revenue, the southern Chinese territory overtook Las Vegas after the sector was opened to foreign competition in 2002. Wealthy gamblers from mainland China powered the Macau’s casino boom. Most of them bet big on baccarat in private rooms. High rollers are estimated to account for more than two-thirds of gambling revenue in Macau.

Macau was returned to China in 1999. It was a Portuguese colony for centuries. In 2002, the government opened the way for foreign operators to enter by ending a 40-year gambling monopoly. The ensuing casino boom has transformed the city on the southern edge of China into a glitzy and bustling tourist destination from a sleepy former colonial outpost.

Governor Gary Herbert signed legislation that allows the state to opt out of any future Internet poker regulations that may be enacted on a federal level, so, Utah became the first state to preemptively ban online poker and gambling.

Utah went in the completely opposite direction and excluded itself from ever joining any federal online gambling statute with several states looking to legalize online gambling as a source of revenue for cash-strapped state coffers.

Governor Gary Herbert last week signed the bill that is clear of Utah’s no-exceptions anti-gambling stance into law. The Utah House passed it earlier this month, by a 62-10 vote and it sailed through the Senate unanimously. Gov. Herbert has made Utah the ninth state to officially have a law on the books that outlaws online poker and gaming in enacting this new legislation, making it a misdemeanor crime under its statutes.

Utah’s anti-gambling legislation, titled HB108, specifically states that, “If any federal law is enacted that authorizes Internet gambling in the states and that federal law provides that individual states may opt out of Internet gambling, this state shall opt out of Internet gambling in the manner provided by federal law and within the time frame provided by that law.”

Violations of the statute are guilty of a Class B misdemeanor and are subject to a fine of up to $1,000 and six months jail time. the Poker Players Alliance managed to lobby strongly enough to leave it at ‘only’ a misdemeanor, although Utah actually wanted to make it a state felony to gamble online.

Utah becomes the first state to preemptively ban online poker and gambling by passing the legislation, going against a number of US states that are looking to legalize online gambling as a source of revenue. Hawaii is the only other US state not to legalize any type of gambling within its borders. However, the state will not likely join Utah in banning online gambling. In the meantime, Nevada is forging ahead to adopt any future online poker regulations on a federal level and become the first state to do so.

Like any social games, blackjack has its own set of rules governing etiquette in the game. Knowing about these rules and understanding how they are applied could make for a more pleasant blackjack experience for all involved.
Most of these rules apply to playing blackjack in a live casino, but etiquette is also required when play online blackjack.

One of the rules is that after you make you bet, you need to keep your hands off the chips in the betting box. In addition, you should not leave cash in the betting box on the table. Another rule is that if you are betting chips which comprise of varying denominations, you will need to stack them with the smallest denomination of the top. If you don’t do this, the dealer will do it for you.

Learn the correct hand signals when playing multiple deck blackjack games. When you are playing single deck games, cards should be picked up with your one hand. If you are requesting a hit, you should scratch the table, while a request to stand is shown by sliding your cards under your chips. Should you go bust at the blackjack table, your sign to do this is turning your cards face up.

You have the option to ask the dealer to keep your same seat around the table if you have to get up for a short period. The dealer can do this by placing a plastic disk in your betting box so that nobody will take your place.

When playing blackjack online, don’t forget your manners either. Don’t be rude through the chat features on the site, and never use abusive or derogatory language. Treat other players the way you’d like to be treated and you should have no problem enjoying your blackjack session.

State police reported Thursday, that The 13 riverboat casinos won $139.6 million, Harrah’s downtown New Orleans casino won $29.3 million and gamblers left behind $33.5 million at the four race track casinos. The casinos took in $200.5 million in April 2011.

In April, Louisiana’s four racetrack casinos won $33.5 million from customers, a 5 percent decline from a month earlier although a 2.1 percent improvement from the April of a year ago. The revenue for Slots at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans is also included in that, which reported revenue of $3.72 million in April, plummeting 20.1 percent from the previous month, and a 5.4 percent improvement on last year’s April result of $3.53 million.

N.J. based Morowitz Gaming Advisors, analyst Cory Morowitz of Galloway, said the Louisiana casino business probably hit bottom around September 2010 and is showing signs of slow recovery, though most markets are still underperforming by historical standards.

New Orleans although quite a distance behind Las Vegas as the second favorite place where gamblers would like to spend their time and money according to a poll released earlier this month by Fairleigh Dickinson Public Mind.

47 percent of respondents, who were asked which casino destination they would most like to visit, Las Vegas was their first choice. Followed by Atlantic City at 8 percent, Reno, Nev., at 5 percent, and St. Louis at 4 percent, New Orleans was second at 10 percent.

The impulsive feeling to great heights is stimulated and it is pleasurable due to the fact that the opportunity to win a lot of money.

As the result of the Internet, the revolution in gambling has evolved, thereby enabling everybody to play online accessible gambling. At any moment in time, to anyone via his or her personal computer, the online casino is accessible.

Below you will find online casino tips, which are on online casino gaming that, will hopefully be of some help to you.

Claim every deposit bonus that you can so that you will get some easily, and others not quite so easily.

Because the additional “00″ in American Roulette almost doubles the house edge contrast to European Roulette, for that reason whenever possible, play European Roulette instead of American roulette.

In Blackjack, do not ever take insurance bets because the odds of winning these are more than twice the house odds of other bets.

In a video poker hand, do not keep any cards that does not have anything that pays out.

The more likelihood the casino has of winning, the longer one plays.

Always remember that if you do not fully be aware of what you are doing, then you are just throwing away your money. Always keep in mind that you are playing for real money, when playing online.

Do not get carried away easily. It is a good time to walk away, if your bankroll is up. Your luck can simply change, if you start thinking that you are imperishable.

It is advisable to sustain a low profile, to keep unpleasant characters on the prowl at bay. Do not tell anyone in the casino how you are doing, whether you are winning or losing, for your own protection.

Over gambling expansion project, the long running debate in Maine is on the verge of a new chapter. The question is whether the debate will be among the voters of Maine or the legislators in Augusta.

Members of the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee listened to members of public weigh in on two citizen initiated bills that would create gambling facilities in three distinct geographical areas of the state. The bill’s supporters hope the Legislature will approve the measures and bypass the need for a statewide referendum later this year. But the governor might not allow this to happen.

With the Hollywood Slots racino in Bangor up and running and ground already broken on a resort casino in Oxford, two citizen initiated bills under consideration by the Legislature would create three more gambling venues in Lewiston, Biddeford and on tribal land in Washington County.

The Legislature has the choice of passing them outright or as has been its preference on this issue in recent years sending the questions to voters statewide.

Paul LePage, Dan Billings, legal counsel for Gov., said during testimony Monday that LePage likely would veto either of the bills if the Legislature opts to pass them because LePage believes the issue is better decided by referendum.

While the Legislature can legally pass the bills itself thereby eliminating the need for a referendum vote it typically does not. Most observers of the process expect the Legislature to vote no, which would automatically send the proposals to a statewide vote in November.

Ali Eslami saw himself sitting at the top of the leader board with 147,000 in chips as at day’s end, 57 players remained. Even though the transition seems to be a smooth one so far, Eslami has had a great year so far considering that he prefers cash games and hasn’t taken to tournaments full time.

Throughout the day, Eslami was able to build his stack nicely. One might think that not too many notable players showed up with the field size staying below the century mark, although that’s not the case here as the field was highly concentrated with big names. Dwyte Pilgrim, Vivek Rajkumar and Randal Flowers, former WPT champions were all in the mix, but unfortunately none of them were able to make it to the end of the day.

Day 2 at the World Poker Tour Hollywood Poker Open no limit hold’em main event saw the total field size set at 97 players and by the end of the night just 27 remained. At the final table on Wednesday, April 13, the eventual champion will take home $273,664 in prize money. In the tournament the top dozen players will take home prize money.

Wall Street market analysts forecasted that as the nation’s second-largest casino market, Pennsylvania’s surging gaming industry would in all probability will surpass Atlantic City next year.

Atlantic City’s gaming revenue has dipped by 30 percent since peaking at $5.2 billion in 2006 and at the same time, Pennsylvania has been raising by double-digit margins. Compared to $3.6 billion for the 11 gaming halls in Atlantic City, Pennsylvania’s 10 casinos, spread across the state, took in about $2.5 billion in revenue in 2010.

Analysts told an industry conference that it seems unavoidable that Pennsylvania will become the next $3 billion market as Atlantic City persists to decline and it should outshine New Jersey for the nation’s No. 2 spot in gaming profits behind Nevada.

In the eastern half of the United States, Atlantic City was the only alternative gamblers for years if they did not want to step into a plane to Nevada. In 1978, the first New Jersey casino, Resorts had opened.

In Atlantic City, there are 11 casinos with a 12th, the half-finished Revel, due to open in mid-2012. The introduction of gambling in Pennsylvania was what really hurt, where the first slots parlor was opened in the Philadelphia suburbs in 2006. That casino touched off a revenue decline for Atlantic City that is now in its fifth straight year.

Managing Director at Deutsche Bank securities, Andrew Zarnett is betting that by 2012, the Keystone State will become the nation’s No. 2 gambling market following Las Vegas. Zarnett and others believe that the growth is so fast, a moratorium on new casinos should be considered by Pennsylvania in case its industry become inundated.

In 2009, Florida tribal casinos benefited from increasing revenues, while casinos in other parts of the country witnessed a dip in revenues. The deep economic crash of the past few years did severe dent to the earnings of casino havens such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City, although Casinos were once well thought-out largely as recession proof.

However, in a down economy, the Seminole Tribe of Florida can still boast of prospering. According to the just-released 2011 Indian Gaming Industry Report, Tribal gaming revenues in Florida were up an estimated 10 percent in 2009. In the same year, Indian casinos in Florida raked in about $2 billion, the first full year the Seminole Tribe operated Las Vegas-style slot machines and dealt blackjack under a deal with the state.

According to the 2011 Indian Gaming Industry Report, for tribal gambling, Florida was the fourth-richest state, behind only California ($7.7 billion), Oklahoma ($3.1 billion) and Connecticut ($2.2 billion). In some parts of the country, the story was different as most places experienced 34-percent growth in Indian gaming revenues between 2008 and 2009. Wyoming witnessed a growth of 21 percent. A strong gain of between 7 percent and 18 percents was shown by Alaska, Nebraska, Florida and Oklahoma.

In the top Indian gaming states, Florida (10-percent growth) and Oklahoma (7 percent) ranked in the top five. With 31 tribes operating a total of 111 gaming facilities producing $3.1 billion in revenue in 2009, Oklahoma was the number two Indian gaming state by a wide margin. The top five gaming states were rounded by Connecticut, Florida, and Washington, with each producing in the neighborhood of $2 billion in revenues annually. Behind California, Oklahoma and Connecticut, Florida was the fourth-richest state for tribal gambling in the nation.

To replace bingo-based slots with Las Vegas style machines and blackjack, Former Gov. Charlie Crist signed an agreement to allow the Seminole Tribe. The agreement was overturned by the Florida Supreme Court, although the Seminole Tribe continued with the plan saying the federal government supported the agreement.
